NoGAP in Progress: Implementation of the project is gaining momentum
The EU funded FP7 Project 'Knowledge Transfer Community to bridge the gap between research, innovation and business creation - NoGAP' has passed its half-year milestone.
The overall efforts of the project partners have been focused on the principle objective that of reinforcement of cooperation with the Eastern Partnership (EaP)
countries in order to develop a 'Common Knowledge and Innovation Space' on the societal challenge 'Secure, clean and efficient energy'
With this end in mind, the project has started with the creation of a list of stakeholders in the societal challenge of secure, clean and efficient energy in the six countries of EaP: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine.
Based upon this listing, the project partners are currently conducting a survey
which serves two goals. First of all, it tries to identify concrete opportunities as well as potential bottlenecks related to cooperation and knowledge transfer between public research and industry in the societal challenge mentioned above. Secondly, the survey analyses the need, the capability and the ability for the implementation of specific transfer centres in the six EaP countries. Stakeholders in the EaP countries are asked to fill in the questionnaire in English
or in Russian
language by 15 March 2014.
In addition to the survey results, the project partners analyse existing and planned energy policy strategies in the region in order to compile a comprehensive vision of the societal challenge addressed in the EaP countries. Training measures for researchers and SMEs on issues such as IP management, commercialisation and innovation management are implemented for the whole EaP region.
The next project meeting
will take place in Tbilisi, Georgia, on 24 and 25 March 2014.
